April and Alan met in 2003, shortly after April started pet sitting.  They decided to join forces and officially formed “Lucy’s Friends Pet sitting”, named after April’s fun-loving beagle.  They were married in 2004, and have a full house with 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 1 cantankerous rabbit.  April attended Guilford College and received her Bachelor’s in Psychology; Alan attended Radford University and received his Bachelors in Administrative Systems.  They are active in the local Quaker community, and volunteer with various organizations that promote animal and environmental welfare.

Alan says: My favorite thing about pet sitting is walking dogs—it’s so relaxing.  And I like the cats, too!

April’s says: My favorite part about being a pet sitter is getting to take care of the animals—I really enjoy making their day with full bowls, a good walk, clean pet areas, and of course the loving and treats!

Chris is attending Guilford College and will earn his Bachelors in History this coming summer.  He adopted a sweet shelter dog named Tully, and visits his family in the DC area often. 

Chris says: My favorite thing about being a pet sitter is that customer satisfaction is easy to obtain…just scratch behind the client’s ear repeatedly.
